Working Groups
AGVWC now has these working groups for interested community members to come together on specific projects Look back for more details on each group. Contact us here for more info or to join a group.
*SHaRP Group (Salmon Restoration): Description still to come.
*Land Management for Fire and Water: Aims to promote and support best practices for both fire safety and water retention in and around our watershed. We hope to have work-exchange parties to help each other do the work at low cost.
*Proposed Asphalt Plant: Description still to come.
*Biocides Working Group: Focuses on issues related to pesticides, herbicides, and other household, industrial, and agricultural poisons, collectively known as "biocides" that are harmful to animals, plants, and people in our watershed. Its mission is to offer public education resources about biocides and explore ways to promote healthy waters and the return of salmon by minimizing - and in some cases eliminating - the use of biocides in our watershed.
*Barlow Creek: Focuses on researching historical data for Barlow creek and, if possible, getting it added to USGS and other maps.
*Walking Water: This group will plan a walking-water event for our watershed. We will obtain permission to walk from every landowner along part or all of Green Valley Creek or Atascadero Creek, and then take one continuous, well publicized, large group walk (ideally from headwater to mouth) together.

Community Outreach

Tours & Work Days
Come walk with us! We partner with local landowners, government organizations, experts in the field, and community members to offer tours and work days at local restoration projects, creeks, farms, and upland areas.
Gatherings
Come hang out with us! We invite the community to join us at Ragle Park on a Saturday morning four times each year for coffee and snacks. We hear from experienced ecologists, biologists, and other naturalists, followed by round-table discussion of local concerns and time to enjoy each other's company.
